The VW Passat CC's fluid handling and refinement are impressive. There's seating for four, a big luggage area and lots of kit.

Rear headroom is limited for tall adults, the ride can be jiggly on rough surfaces. It's also a bit on the pricey side.

Nice! Love the looks, own a 2004 Polo 1.4 100hp at the moment, drives brilliantly, and can wipe the smile of some wannabe boy racers!

Polos are understated sophistication, the wise choice in these harder times for the man who doesn't need a car as large as a golf.

I can assure you I would much prefer a vw than any of those pathetic French or Italian excuses for mechanical engineering
