A short I shot and edited of organic fairtrade sugar production in Paraguay, South America. It was an amazing experience to see the whole process and see people working together in progressive business models.
we hope Paraguay follows Brazil using its abundant sugarcane production for Ethanol fuel ,sustituting very expensive oil imports and creating a whole new industry also by burning the bagasse electricity is produced
I watched your video on the co-op sugar production, essential for the rights of workers! this is of intrest to me. the european union phased out the sugar beet production this had a grave affect on farmers ! euope does not produse sugar now ! though european consumes no less suger than before ! how can we be sure that the sugar imported by european big buisness is from co-op farms with fair trade, not from colonial plantations where conditions are bad?
conditions are not bad ,on the contrary ,this are well paid jobs that Paraguayans seek
European sugar was heavily subsidise ,while Paraguay produces sugarcane sugar ten times cheaper ,a mutual benefit for producer ,consumer and taxpayer
that is the way realistic economy works!
