Before working in this project I searched the internet and YouTube for modern back yard and patio design ideas, but wasn't able to find many that were modern and contemporary. So I decided to document my build to give others ideas.
The project took about 2 weeks to complete, but that's because I worked on it in the evenings when I got home from work.

one more question, how did you finish the concrete top? Did you have to fill any pin holes? did you have to sand it smooth?

@Ojaiuser - I used a smooth white sided plywood board to make my mold, then ran the side of my electric sander around all the edges right after pouring the concrete to vibrate as many bubbles out. It came out pretty smooth, there are a few small holes but I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I also sealed the concrete so it doesn't get stained.
