Vaanmathi

Vaanmathi (Swathi) is the daughter of Padmavathi (Vadivukkarasi) who is a rich and powerful lady. Padmavathi had separated from her husband and had therefore single-handedly raised her daughter. Both mother and daughter agree on all issues and are well-known for their arrogance. Vaanmathi falls in love with Krishna (Ajit Kumar) a young lad from a middle class family. This leads to a rift between the mother and the daughter. Does Padmavathi succeed in convincing her daughter to forget about her first love; or does Vaanmathi win her mother over?
