FROM WIKIPEDIA: Miles Morales is a fictional comic book superhero published by Marvel Comics. A biracial teenager of African American and Latino descent, Miles is the second superhero to go by the name of Spider-Man in the Ultimate Universe. First introduced following the death of Peter Parker, the original Spider-Man, Miles will be the star of the new Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man title in September 2011. The character will make his debut in Ultimate Fallout #4, though the character's identity was first revealed in the USA Today. Starting in September 2011, Miles will be the star in the relaunched Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man series, written by Brian Michael Bendis and drawn by Sara Pichelli.

I hate how some people are so pissed about Miles Morales because he is a different race from Peter Parker. I mean this shows that another person of a different ethnicity can impersonate a famous superhero. If u don't think heroes can't be black, look at Static Shock.

I'll be honest I don't like Miles because he is too young. How can you have a 13 year old being Spider-man? It makes him unrelatable and also it makes giving him any kind of love interest very creepy lol! Why did they make him half hispanic? We already have Miguel O'Hara Spider-man 2099 (who is completely badass I recommend reading Spider-man 2099). Why not just make him African-America? If they had made him older say 17-18 he would have been a great Spider-man.

i don't see how its racist to not want the character to change. hell, going out of your way to make a character a different race, for the sake of self proclaimed diversety...is kind of racist. i don't see the need to change any of the super heros races, like people have been so fond of doing in the past decade. its...kinda fucking stupid. it's not like their arent any super heros that arent white...and if theirs not enough diverse super heros than make new ones.

well then...when black panther gets killed off lets replace him with a white guy. or hey, when they remake shaft again have him be played by neil patrick harris. or when they make a new dolemight movie lets have him be chinese. hell lets let miley syris be beonce when she retires....or make luke skywalker indian in the inevitable stars reboot. ooo!! how about!...kurt russell as malcom x's nephew in the next movie about that!!...hell lets have make superman korean. or make the flash homosexual...
