and if you dont want to use products that fine, but i want to go ahead and recommend a product to you(:
it is: garnier fructis style wonder waves/ wave enhancing spray
this is might make your hair easier to curl, it works on my sister & I... but im not sure how your hair is, because every ones hair is different. but i would go ahead and try this and see how it works for you(:
at cvs pharmacy it is $4.49 and at walgreens they are having a sale 3 for $10!

make the buns a little smaller, and tighter, and leave it in longer until your hair is COMPLETELY dry
