Mountain - Mississippi Queen

Lyrics:
Mississippi Queen, If you know what I mean
Mississippi Queen, She taught me everything
Way down around Vicksburg, Around Louisiana way
Lived a cajun lady, Aboard the Mississippi Queen
You know she was a dancer
She moved better on wine

While the rest of them dudes were'a gettin' their kicks,
Buddy, beg your pardon, I was getting mine!

Mississippi Queen, If you know what I mean
Mississippi Queen, She taught me everything
This lady she asked me, If I would be her man
You know that I told her, I'd do what I can
To keep her looking pretty
Buy her dresses that shine

While the rest of them dudes were making their bread
Buddy, beg your pardon, I was losing mine!

----- Lead Guitar -----

You know she was a dancer
She moved better on wine

While the rest of them dudes were'a gettin' their kicks,
Brotha, beg your pardon, I was getting mine!

Yeah, Mississippi Queen!

  • i remember mountain playing one of milwaukee's first summerfests(the only one i've been to). lightning flashing all around, the wind howling, west's hair blowing wildly. these days it would've been cancelled immediately. instead, they just rocked on.

  • @angelacevedo2112 one of the BEST SNLs EVER

  • Always liked Mountain......heard last week Leslie West has lost a leg to diabetes and am glad he's still with us considering the way it all went down. Hang in there, Leslie........you've alot of people rooting for ya!

  • I really like this one. Tried to sing it in Kareoke! Not one of my better moments...I really butchered it something awful! I appologize to Mountain for doing it.
