The irony here of course is that John Stapleton wore this sort of stuff as if it was perfectly normal and acceptable.

Nowdays it would be aa big a deal if a discussion broke out on Jeremy Kyle.

Like Kilroy, the BBC's version of this programme, it started out well with topics of interest. However, as time went on, they began to scrape the bottom of the barrel, looking for more and more, 'sensationalist', subjects that, supposedly, was to draw more people to watch it. I guess that, initially, it probably worked. Although, the more intellectual who watched switched off in their droves, as some of the topics did nothing but insult their intelligence. The Noddy's loved it, though.

@worcsfan Or you get the TV shows advertisers want, after all it's their money that pays for ITV.

He handled it pretty well, I thought

LOL. I remember being off sick from school and watching this live! Was really funny.
TTTP was a better show when they did debates about the NHS or education in schools. What do we get now in that slot? "My 13 year old daughter is a pregnant prostitute" or "I'm a chav with 37 ASBOs". If I said that ITV hasn't dumbed down in the past 15 years, I would be lying my head off.
The race fraca quite in the clip is mild compared to your average Jeremy Kyle/Trisha Goddard show that are on now. Bring back TTTP - all is forgiven...
