Blame it on the radio. That is what Amber Nicholson says sparked her interest in music. As a toddler, she would sing along to the radio and memorize the words to each song; a natural start to a career decision. At the age of eleven, Amber began attending events at CAMEO (Canadian Association for Musical Empowerment & Opportunity) where local artists are encouraged to hone their skills. Monthly awards are presented through CAMEO for the most promising teen vocalist; Amber has been presented with this award six times. She was also presented with the CAMEO 'Teen Vocalist of the Year' award. The BC Music Association presented Amber with the 2006 Ray McAuley Horizon Award; an award given to the best new performing artist for their achievements, live performances and contributions to Country Music in British Columbia. At the age of fifteen, Amber was discovered by her current management, DA Entertainment and has been performing on the big stage ever since. She has opened for; Johnny Reid, Aaron Pritchett, Prairie Oyster, The Cruzeros and has performed three times at the prestigious Merritt Mountain Music Festival. Grammy nominee, singer, songwriter Jamie O'Neal gave Amber permission to record and release "Girlfriends" one of O'Neal's self-penned songs. Amber has also had the opportunity to perform the song live on stage with Jamie. "Girlfriends" is included on Amber's debut CD. The first single "Diggin' In the Dirt" released in July 2007 garnered airplay across Canada. Her second single, "Afraid To Love" was released August 27, 2007
