Baseball pitching, tennis serving, javelin throwing, volleyball spiking and football passing are maximum velocity overhand throwing skills. Therefore, these athletes should use the identical power arm action. When they do, like my baseball pitchers, they will achieve their genetic maximum power arm velocities. Sincerely,

    Dr. Mike Marshall

    Dear DAngelo136,

I agree that thatboyweeks does not understand my baseball pitching motion. However, if he is able to hit as well as he says, then I hope that he gets a chance to show us.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Mike Marshall

    Dear Sir,

You are directing your questions to 'thatboyweeks' who, two months ago, said that he would hit every pitch 500 feet.

My answers to your questions are:

    01. For fourteen years, from 1967 through 1981, I pitched major league baseball.

    02. I signed my first professional contract in August 1960. Sincerely,

    Dr. Mike Marshall

Or the G.M sobered up and thought better of the offer, more than likely.

So why aren't you in the show? If you can hit a ball 200 feet consistently, you'd be a player in MLB. 500 feet, and you'd have scouts banging down your door. So when were you signed?

Dear Sir, No problem. I write generically. However, if you need to think only right-handedly and it works for you, that is fine with me. Sincerely,

    Dear Sir,

You are correct. Instead of rotating the body over their pitching foot, I teach my baseball pitchers to rotate their body over their glove foot.

When my baseball pitchers rotate their entire pitching side of their body forward over their glove foot, they are able to rotate through release. This action not only eliminates injuries to the lower back, pitching knee, groin and the glove side of the Rib Cage, they are able to rotate faster and farther forward.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Mike Marshall

Of course I'm just boiling it down to terms that I can understand and comprehend more easily. That's not to take anything away from your analysis and years of work. Thank you, Dr.Mike.

drmike. What i'm seeing is that for a right handed pitcher instead of pivoting on the right leg to create torque your advocating rotating on the left foot/leg as a pivot point which utilizes the hip turn more than the orthodox pitching motion and thus minimizes arm injury. I'm no kinesiolgist, but that's what I'm taking from this. And I think I understand what you're driving at.
