The video shows eye gaze interaction with Second Life using our "Snap Clutch" software; developed at De Montfort University, UK in collaboration with University of Tampere, Finland.

  • this is really cool. i have a couple of questions:

    - how did you start flying? just by looking long enough to the sky?

    - would it also be possible to open the chat bar, friends list and IM/TP?

  • I used a left click mouse emulation mode and "dwelled" on the "Fly" button at the bottom of the screen.

    You can do everything that you can normally do with a mouse... kind of. So, opening the chat bar is easy... inputting text is a little harder as you need to use a third party application like Dasher or an on-screen keyboard.

  • how do you click?

  • When using the mouse emulation part of the software we dwell/fixate/stare at where we want to click.
