The annual Red Deer College fundraiser Affairs of the Arts proved a huge success last weekend complete with a classy atmosphere and examples of student artistry.
Proceeds from the popular event support music, theatre studies, visual arts and motion picture arts programs at RDC.
A gourmet dinner was served on stage and the evening of entertainment was presented by students. The event was also hosted by actor Kari Matchett and co-hosted by RDC instructor/actor Lori Ravensborg. Both women are also alumni of RDC theatre studies.
Guests were also able to take part in live and silent auctions before enjoying a program of song, dance and theatre.
Ravensborg is currently interim head of performance in RDCs motion picture arts program, and has been an instructor there since 2007. Matchett, who now lives in Los Angeles, enjoys a busy schedule of work in both TV and film.
Last year, more than $58,000 was raised at the Affairs of the Arts event.
