I would so love to see a battle with the following:
St. Ajora
Sydney
Lady Ashe/Lord Larsa
Ramza/Delita
It would be many kinds of awesome.

History? You mean legend or myth...
-
crab battle!
-
Apparently some parts of this game are based on Japanese history, what with the giant enemy crab.

'Warping the minds of men and shepherding the masses has always been your church's domain.'
Quoted for truth! Man, I loved how controversial this game was. Just made it all the more awesome. Wonder how many Christians got upset and defensive after reading that line?

Actually, the person who posted these videos is a Christian. It's my favorite game. ;) You do realize that the Christian church does not exist in Ivalice, don't you?
And VS controversial? I take it you weren't around for the furor over Xenogears... I don't recall hearing any outrage at all over VS, except for frustration among gamers when it became hard to find copies.

Yeah it's so strange how this game never really took-off. It's my fave game too =)
I never played Xenogears, no. =(
But the writers of VS clearly had some bones to pick with Christianity. It may not be the 'Christian church' in Ivalice, but the parallels are all there =P
I used to be a Christian too, but then I actually started challenging the views my parents had burned into my child's mind. Nothing against your views though. Each to their own! Believe whatever makes you happy!

I'd say they were simply following the fine Japanese game tradition of "evil church", myself. Japan doesn't care much for organized religion in general. Meanwhile XG had blatant Jewish/Christian refs all over. ;)
(Actually, if I believed what made me "happy", I'd be an atheist. I believe what I believe is the truth, and that truth sometimes conflicts with our wants.)
