How could someone dislike this. I'm leaving for Tibet right now. Selling the I-pod ad X-box, 65" Plasma and Lotus and I am going to wear a diaper until I fill it with the waste of humanity. Then and only then will true enlightenment take place.

Demons and Gods (different in Buddhism than Christianity) are only a small part of Chod, but they are a part of it. The participant visualizes leaving their body, becoming a deity, then chopping the old body up, transforming it into nectar, and offering it to Hungry Ghosts, to ease the people in hell, etc.
The main point of this practice is renunciation of attachment to one's self... one of the core teachings of Buddhism.
It sounds odd to Westerners, until you realize what a crucifix is.

Sources describe this practice as if the adept is offering the flesh of his body to be cut to pieces and devoured by the gods, demons and wild animals. The ritual reminds the initiation of a shaman though the attributed meaning is different (as stated above). This particular type of meditation is believed to be extremely mentaly challenging and can be dangerous if not handled appropriately.
The founder of the practice of Chöd was Machig Labdrön, the consort of Padampa Sangye.
