The new EnCana headquarters, dubbed "The Bow," will be the tallest building in Calgary, covering two full city blocks. when it opens in 2010.

- The crescent-shaped tower will be 59 storeys for a total height of 247 metres.

- The cost is estimated to be between $850 million to $1 billion.

- Construction is slated to begin in 2007. The building is expected to have full occupancy by 2011.

- All 3,200 of EnCana's employees will work in the main office tower.

- Each of the 53 office floors will have about 32,000 net sq. ft.

- The project will feature 1.7 million sq. ft. of rentable space.

- The site for the total development is 190,000 sq. ft.

- Retail and cultural space in the development will be around 200,000 sq. ft.

- The office will have six underground parking levels, enough for 1,400 stalls.

- The development will connect to three nearby buildings via the Plus-15 network.

- Sky garden levels throughout the tower will be 18 floors apart and

    We seem to think that they bring us comfort and security. They even tell us that. But what they really advocate is sorrow and death.

    Fuck you Encana and your government as well. I will never give up my land without a fight. Canada is not a free country, just another corrupt institution bent on gaining power and wealthy at the cost of innocent people.

  • Encana forcefully took my friend's land. The told him that it was of bad quality and the soil was no good (The soil was very good for growing Barley). They gave him a very low price that they would buy it from him and said that it was fair. Believing it, he sold the land and Encana got to work.

    A friend of his later told him about what Encana did to him. Encana is supported by the government, so you can probably guess what happened when he refused to sell his RIGHTFULLY owned land...
