All about motor rewinding you can find at Facebook page : AC Windings

Make sure you keep a good count of all the unwinding. Take a dial caliper and get the gauge of the wire, you can make a kind of vacuum impreg unit using a compressor and a drum with varnish in the bottom.

I spent awhile unwinding the stator, and it was a huge slow task. After softening the windings with heat, I was able to separate the wires and found only the windings supplying the voltage regulator were the fried ones. Needless to say, buying a replacement was way easier. If you have no output, like near zero volts, it sounds like the regulator is not sending current to the armature. Possibly a bad brush. could be bad regulator or system control board.
