Is it just me or did they tone this guy down from the SNES version? I recall him near one shotting Ryu with his "save strength" move when I played it so long ago.

@mirrorpiece I played and beat both, you don't have to play 1 before 2, thing is there are some references to preveous events in 1 but this is not a direct sequal, it's kind of like the final fantasy games, neither (For most) is usually related unless it says otherwise. You can even play 2 then 1 but 1 is very hard, much harder than 2.

@Thinker302 Die?! No, no, no, I didn't push her out of the way of the poison needles during the fight, and therefore she joins you after you fight Augus.

Breath of fire 1 was never released on the snes in europe. but breath of fire 2 WAS released in europe in the snes. That being said, was it just a dumb mistake, or is it just not realy important to have played breath of fire before breath of fire 2? i was wondering that becaus i have a some wii points left for virtual console.

@mirrorpiece Mmn, I wouldn't say you need to play the first one first. The first one's a lot of fun, but it's definitely not a necessary prerequisite or anything.
