The Hornby Thomas range are all based on existing Hornby tooling, that is, they are all pretty much repaints of other models from the mainstream Hornby range, with the faces added.

@crazyracer12 Yes, I recently found that out!
But in the Hornby catalog they show them facing up side down, so thats why I had them like that, thanks for the tip anyway. :)

The lamp-irons on your James are upside-down. Hornby goof methinks.

@e2number1 I think this particular model has 'Gullane 2005' written on the chassis.

If I had a choice between Bachmann James and Hornby James, my choice would be the Hornby one owing to the RWS accuracy.

@Eddy2730 I agree, it's far more detailed and has superior performance to the Bachmann counterpart.

the big question to me would be "do i want a series based model, or a real-life based model?"
