The Island of Dead Dolls, or La Isla de las Muñecas started with Don Julián Santana, a hermit, who lived on the island for fifty years. He believed it was haunted by a little girl who drowned in the river while visiting. Whenever he saw a doll floating by the canal he got it and put it on a tree, to appease the spirit and protect him from evil. He soon turned the island into a shrine dedicated to the girl.
He was found dead in 2001 by his nephew in the same canal the girl died in. It is believed voices were calling him into the water. Each doll is supposed to be filled with the paranormal energy of the girl. They are also said to move and whisper. While visiting the island, you should bring a doll, hard candy, and a candle to appease the spirit. You need permission from Don Julián's nephew Anastasio Velasquez to enter the island.

I've been here before!
It's in Mexico, I can't remember what river it's called. But you have to go there by boat. There's a bunch of tour boats you can get on, they can take you here but you have to stay at a distance because you can't touch any of the dolls. It's pretty cool!

I am terrified of dolls and want to get over my fear, I think I should vacation there, face my fear! I hope I don't die in the process.

Stop on the picture at :41 seconds and put it on full screen. Look right behind the doll in the lower center of the screen. It looks to me like there is an apparition of a man standing back behind it with a girl peeking around his arm. I also noticed that the matrixing effect is amazing. As I scanned around the trees, etc, it looks like there are faces everywhere. This story was just on Destination Truth. It is a CREEEEPPPPPY place!

i want ghost adventure to go there and investigate i wanna know if they could last there a full 12 hours i really wanna see that. ^_^
