Michael LeFevre performing live in Yakima, Washington, October 12, 2008 at the Second Sunday Recital Series at Englewood Church. Much gratitude to Jane and Roger Finch and family for putting on these concerts, a wonderful addition to the goings-on in central Washington. Thanks also to the anonymous video recorder, I was happy to have a chance to revisit the concert. Warts and all!

Guitarist and composer Carlo Domeniconi (b. 1947) is an Italian, living in Berlin, spent a number of years in Istanbul teaching classical guitar and absorbing influences of Turkey. Here, with his Turkish Variations (Variationen über ein Anatolisches Volkslied), he took an immensely popular Turkish song by Asik Veysel, Uzun İnce, and fit it into a western theme and variations format. Loosely translated as "I walk a long, narrow path."
