I think Fred was always jealous of Faith. he was package delivery worker. faith was a cop doing a mans job making a difference in the world. Fred and Emily the spoiled brat never understood being a cop is not something you do its something you are. Fred was a mentally abusive husband because he was jealous he had no authority in his career like Faith.

Why is everyone raggin' on poor old Fred? Yeah he did have a problem but it's clear that he worked it out and is trying to be responsible! He realizes that you can't just go in on your kid with all guns blazin' like fringgin' SWAT! Faith is truely a good person and does love her kids but she just doesn't know how to leave the cop at the station and not bring it home!

fred is annoying and is a whiner. he behaves as though faith is lazy and unemployed. he complains that she's never at home etc but he has so much down time why doesnt he study for some courses? on another note i can't stand cruz
