Donkey Kong Country 2 - 102% Run, Part 1 - Pirate Panic

Ready for another monkey adventure? I sure am, because this isn't just any moneky adventure, it's the best platforming game ever made. I should probably put an "in my opinion" here, but in this day and age, that really shouldn't be necessary.

While the first game is great, this one is better in pretty much every aspect. It's longer and harder (especially the bosses), the music is better, there are more secrets and there's a lot more to do. The somewhat flawed saving system is still there, though. That's the only thing I would change in this game.

Again, the goal is to complete the game 102% and beat all the levels without losing any lives. That's not the same thing as beating the entire game without losing any lives, btw. That's something I could never do. This time, all the bonus rooms must be completed, as you always get a coin at the end of them, that is required for 102% completion. The DK Coins are also requires, so I will find all of them as well. In addition, I will find all the KONG letters (not required) and I'll do my best to find all the extra life balloons and small coins. If I miss any, you're free to tell me, but I won't redo any levels.

The first level is obviously easy, but already here, we break the two minute mark. That didn't happen until the 8th level in the first game.

my fav is dixie kong 2nd player... i like her colors... And i perfer purple to pink tho i dont like eaither color.... i hope that if i have a daughter she wont like purple or pink... (does that sound weird for a woman?)

Nice video, when I was little, I always used to think the creaking sound was a motorbike for some reason lol, very great game indeed, I have it for the WII.

@0bsidian0 I think he is aware of it, but he wants to show how to get 102%. If he does the secret, he won't be able to show how to do it the normal way.

The gba version has its ups and downs comapred to the snes. First and formeost, they completely ruined the music in gba. The snes version had the best soundtrack, and in my opinion, it tops the soundtrack of both Super Paper Mario and the Super Smash Bros games. Nintendo dissapointed me with the gba soundtrack. Now, onto the gameplay. While the gameplay in the gba was generally better than that of the snes, one thing bugged me. YOU HAVE TO PAY COINS TO REPLAY BOSSES!!! That ends my comparison.

There are quite a few improvements in this game over the first one. Like now you have 2 kongs that are fast and can jump far. Also Its a lot more challenging. The bosses in the first one were easy after you beat them a first time. Not to mention the fact that each boss battle was pretty much the same. The setting was even the same each time. In this one the bosses are fitting to the world you are in "kleaver's kiln is in a volcano setting and King zing Sting is in a hive setting).
