Hi and thanks a lot for such great things I am learning from your You Tube stuff. I do have a request about using a controller to change banks and/or programs. The problem I am having is that when I use my controller to change programs, the program banes do not get changed / updated on the track in the arrange window untill I actually click on the program number in the channel strip. Can you help mr out on this or is there something I missed?

No soup for you! Come back ....one week! =) Great vids bro

Hi David, I was wondering if you have made or know of an online example of track comping in logic studio that used vocal or guitar perhaps? I'm trying to explain it to a friend out of state over the phone and failing miserably. Thanks for all the great videos!

Comping multiple multiple takes is very easy. Go to the track mixer and create a group of the drums. In the groups dialog tick region selection (edit) Then open say the kick or snare take folder and do your swipe comp. what you comp in one folder will be global across the group. Thanks to SFlogicNinja for the great tutorials.

nice job

thank you,
well the videos from drewpearsonmusic is more on the quantyze thing, not editing.
Still, the comping function is cool but for mono track but in a drum recording case ( multiple track and multiple takes) it is not useable...
I thought you had " experience" in multitakes/tracks with logic...
nevermind I will try things :)
thanks a lot
Hi SFLogicNinja, can I call you David ?
The multitakes is pretty clear explained but in a drum recording case, how can you choose multitakes of multitracks ?
When you choose a Snare ( let's say in the 4th take) you will certainly have to take the HH ( in the 4th take too) at the same time, but , if you work like that with the COMP function of Logic, you need 3 days to finish a good comping .
What do you think about this function ( comping) in this particular case t Z drum comping case !) ?

Hey z...
Check out drewpearsonmusic on youtube about drum editing. I think this will address the issue in detail! Let me know,

brilliant stuff dave keep em coming - apple should employ you (maybe they do?)

From what I understand, I'd have to PAY APPLE for them to employ me! I'd rather make some money from selling some DVDs through Pyramind, which we're working on. I just get so sidetracked by all this awesome composition work! Life is good. Thanks for watching, *bows*

I like the comping, but I would like to see those crossfades between the takes I cut up with the scissor tool.
In Logic when I have a multi-take audio track and I use the scissor tool to cut something (lets say on the far left of the recording) it seems like it jumps takes sometimes. So if I am cutting up take 6, I start to hear stuff from other takes. Is it just me or why would this be happening?

When you finish swipe comping, you go to the pull-down menu of the take folder and choose 'flatten'. This shows you your comp WITH crossfades. Then you can edit the fades, curve the fades, or adjust them with the junction tool. IF your scissors are jumpy, hold control down when scrubbing. If you need even higher resolution, hold control and shift.
