How to work with water in Minecraft. Works in singleplayer and multiplayer (with Llamacraft server mod). Explains:
* how water works in Minecraft
* making an infinite pool
* why checkerboarding to make lakes just wastes your time
* making difficult projects, like irregularly shaped streams, and long canals.

Blocking the patterns out with gravel is not entirely necessary in single player (it is in multiplayer, as the only way to get water working is with the llamacraft mod currently). However, for large projects:
a) it's much easier to place water blocks when you're not being continually washed downstream;
b) it's easier to get the correct pattern if you block it out with gravel first.

  • @Lolligator or you can make it 2x2 with 1 second of extra effort, and never be able to accidentally take the source out.

  • You actually don't *need* to block off the flowing water before placing a water source block, you can just put a water source block into the flowing water AFAIK

  • Repeat for infinite water. The sea is going bankrupt! LOL

  • You get a bowl with 3 pieces of iron in a V shaped pattern.

  • does anyone here knows where to get that bowl off water??? o.O

  • where do you get bowl off water

  • Ima watch this one more time haha

  • You only need two buckets- fill one block, fill the one next to it, pick it up, then fill the next block, and repeat.

  • @monkeyslat Yeah I realised that later on when talking to the maker of the video. I use this method now.

  • the gravel is useless

  • @DemonAMVs the gravel isnt needed in anything here . I think he used it just to easily show where to place things, or water was just stupid back then. go beta

  • @OakHeart32 if you want that start with 1 deep flat and make the second layer with the same method and so on

    water will not make source blocks if it has air or any other non full block
