A quick ride on my dad's 1 1/2 inch scale 7 1/2 inch gauge railroad. He's working on a new engine, that's why there's no body. Still a lot of track work to go, but what's down is pretty nice. I think you'll agree!!

  • do you guys have to make the couplers or its bought by some company?

  • @fordlukebo You could, but it's way easier to buy them.

  • He ought to come up with an infrared remote (like a TV remote) for those switches so he could just point and click switches open and closed. A few bi-colored large scale high brightness LEDs for switch lights and he's set. :-)

  • @TheMrBlinx working on the signals... switch motors are a little more involved. Not impossible, but getting power the whole way around is the trick.

  • Very nice. I loved it.

When you get snow, why doesn't he make a working scale model of a real RR snow blower? That way he could run it in the winter.

How many miles is that? Looks like, if it broke down at the farthest point, it would be quite a walk back.

    Great job! :)

  • @TheMrBlinx Thought about it, but the problem isn't really the snow, it's ice. you'd really be surprised how little water it takes to loose traction and create all sorts of problems getting home.

There's just about a mile down, but it's set up as a loop, so really if you just take the shortest path, it's really only a couple minute walk.

  • Thanks for the wonderful train ride. My family really enjoyed it so much. The gang from Bear Run.

  • Have you tried at night?

  • Or.....Maybe it's not even near Tionesta....Did he just name it the Tionesta Valley RR??

  • That is cool. Where abouts is it and does he allow people to come over and check it out? I only live 10 miles from Tionesta. Thanks.

  • is that ur own RR? i forgot to ask you.

  • @kleetus92 from where? i wanted to research the prices of feight cars and engines online but i can find it.

  • @kleetus92 Solar and motorcycle batteries? Of course, deep in the woods like that might now work so well, but you could run a short stretch of wire to a clearing maybe.
