  • @Cbluboi01 you don't need a license for cb, but it is just a rule, it applies to everyone that owns a cb. and with the rfx in your radio, it doesn't meet fcc part 15 requirements. but running that radio is about the same as going 75 on the interstate, most of the time no one will say anything, but it happens sometime

    73s

  • @cobra395 I know most of the FCC rules. Which is why I have an FCC license although I know you don't need one for a CB

  • @Cbluboi01 ok, well, its basically the same concept, but cb uses AM and public safety uses FM. CB is in the HF spectrum, around 27 MHz. one other thing, not to insult your intelligence, but seeing as you are new to cb radios you may not know that it is against FCC regulations to have a cb that puts out more than 4 watts CARRIER power, not "swing" or "peak" power. basically if your radio dead keys over 4 watts, its illegal, but noone should bother you with just the rfx. i wouldnt worry.

  • @cobra395 I guess. I'm kind of new to CB radios I'm used to VHF radio's used for Public Saftey.

  • @Cbluboi01 LOL you got a DAMN good radio for free.

  • @cobra395 well then yep. lol

  • @Cbluboi01 dang, i wish i got one for free... lol the rfx is just a big heatsink on the back, or at least thats what it looks like.

  • @cobra395 not sure. I got it for free, I have no clue what is in it. I haven't even hooked it up yet.

  • @Cbluboi01 rfx75?

  • I just got one of these for free =D it pushes out 75W haha.
