  • Yeah they are. This is a rollback barrel racers do. These horses are barrel horses, not reiners. This makes them get there hind end under them and make quick snappy turns.

  • it even said in the beginning of the video that she wasnt doing a proper roll back.

  • Hey guys ! I'm 13 years old and I do all the timed events & some western pleasure . If y'all can check out my videos & comment with tips & advice then I'd greatly appreciate it . All of us youtube people need to help each other out .! I hope y'all check out my stuff and have a good day everyone !

  • Thankyou, i been doing something similar in the round pen but not quite correct.

  • The horse I work once a week is a lazy fat boy. He would either run into the fence and be shocked that I tried to get this nice of a turn out of him, or he would just slow down to a trot/walk when I am kicking him like crazy. I need a horse with some spunk.

  • @countrygirl9519 Sure does. They don't wanna run into the fence. It guides the horse and helps them know what you want them to do.

  • @countrygirl9519 Well, it actually teaches them to pull thier body around around the barrel instead of being unsteady and slipping from underneath themselves. It will make it so the horse is turing smoother, which makes the rider turn smoother which makes the turn smoother so you can go fast and still have control. I hope this helps. Happy barrel racing. Thanks!

  • I noticed they do this exersice against a fence. Does it help or encourage the turn to be quicker and sharper?

  • i do this for both reining and barrels. my barrel horse i got her to canter fast on the rail the turn like this and i get my reining cow gorse to do this to

  • @proven1955 Look at there name, expertvillage. There just trying to inform horse people as best they can, or future horse people. From what ive seen there pretty good teachers, not perfect about everything but there good teachers.

  • @flagracer11 because when your horse is learning, it's better to teach them with split. Her horse may be advanced but she's showing you what to usef or your horse.

  • why does she have split reins? lol
