Heh... My name's Magnolia...

My first thought was "mutants"... But maybe it has to do with the places they grow. Dust particles could screw the "perfect" pattern.

disclaimer not a botanist or evolutionary biologist, or paleobotanist.
Could the Magnolia's ancestry be from before plants figured out the spiral pattern?
Where in the fossil record is this spiral pattern first seen?
Is the Magnolia sufficiently different from other plants that it does not require the spiraling to compete for resources?

I love how she just squirts the glitter glue at the magnolia after trying to put spirals on the uneven thing. XD

i am not sure how well magnolia blossoms would ship, but i'd be happy to try when the one outside my building starts blossoming. i don't ever remember thinking of the as disorganized, but the petals are big and chunky and maybe looser than most other flowers? i love this series, thank you for it!
