They could have easily taken the easier spot on "Derby Weekend", by letting her run in the Kentucky Oaks ( 3 Year Old Fillies ) and nobody would've thought any less of her....Instead, they put her against 19 of the toughest 3 Year Old boys in the country, while adding more distance at the same time. She ran like the monster that she was, giving it a great try. I was devastated that she had broken both front legs, and has to be immediately euthanized. I was really crushed.

Eight Belles made a great performance in her last race^^ The only filly in the field, and she left 18 colts in the dust!

@gunloc26 not true. the steroid BB was on does not improve speed, but keep them sound, BB was champ that day, and far out did belles, no question

I feel really bad for Big Brown. Not that I don't care about Eight Belles, but he had to deal with people hating him for being on the anabolic steriod (which he won twice without and the third he had a hoof problem, which is what they RUN ON so of course that would hurt his chances) and because of the filly collapsing he didn't get all the attention due a Derby winner.

Half these people didn't even know about EB until she broke down and had to be euthanized. Then they go on saying stupid comments about how bad HR is etc... When they don't even know the half of it/about the sport/Trainers/owners etc...

Big Brown was a "roided" out horse...EIGHT BELLES actually should have won this race...she deserves to be called CHAMPION!
