Probably the kickdown switch is not working.
Or the pedal was not completly floored, because my 1998 1,8 Zetec with automatic trans. goes over 6000, nearly 7500 before shifting if pedal completly floored.

Holy... I've driven this car this manual tranny and it was waaay faster. That automatic gearbox must be kinda shitty... Huge difference.

Had the same car, the same slow, but very nice ride quality, silent and comfortable.

my dad had a mondeo late 90's model 1.8 zetec the guy he got it off has it chipped and that car was fast we timed 0-60mph run in 7.0 second range and we got 142mph out of it the car was good fun pulled well to 90mph.im not sure what is wrong in this video but it seems really slow

@bebetterthanyou much faster :D you need nearly 16sec for 0-100.. my mondeo 1.8 115hp with shift just needs 9,8 sec :D
