A video short clip and photos of American school buses used as the primary source of local transportation in Central America. Experience the kaleidoscope of colors and creative modifications of "Chicken Buses." Depending on what kind of traveler you are, you either avoid them or take advantage of them whenever possible.

  • I drive buses in Michigan all the same color but your buses look much better, real works of art, each has a distinct personality. I'm very jealous.

  • @bobcheckingin It is absolutely representative of their culture. Customizing buses, cars or even tuk-tuks with bright colors, black lights and anything else you can think is quite popular.

  • The coloroful buses are one of my favorite parts of Central America! Much better than bland old US yellow buses...

  • @worldli Yes, I wish the schools in the US tricked out there buses to look like this! Lol.
