Sony has developed a prototype display which is a rollable, flexible color screen. The 4.1-inch display has a resolution of 432 by 240 pixels and is an 80μm-thick organic TFT panel-based OLED (organic light emitting diode). It is apparantly flexible enough to be wrapped around a pencil, yet can still successfully show video images.
This takes flexible screens to a new level since they were only capable of slight bends before.

I was collaborating on a commercial identity piece about 10 years ago and I laughingly said that one day business cards and newspapers will all be full color video displays. I was just frustrated because I think in video not static pictures and I was having trouble with the old technology. . . . Look what Sony has done this time! Bravo, my imagination in practical application. . . Love it. . .
