Tribute to Frank Vandenbroucke who died suddenly October 12th 2009 at the age of 34. This is his great victory in Liège-Bastogne-Liège in 1999.

How sad-he has gone the same way as MarcoPantani&Jose-Maria Jimenez.There needs to be a support structure in place whether it be national federations or the UCI to prevent another tragedy like this.Any top class sportsperson who suddenly find themselves on a downward trajectory will have difficulty adjusting&need counselling&support-NOT sanctimonious self righteous journalism.
Frank-RIP-you were not a bad person.
