this version has the most expressive guitar solo EVER! 4:13 he switches to inside pickup and or with wah kicked back low for deep thick rich perfect tone and my most fav,4:26 kicks on the univibe, this section kills me everytime i hear it.

My favourite version is May 1970 at Berkeley California 1st show /second show was Not his best playing. I have Custom Tablature for some of this performance . Uni-Vibe...Custom Shop 1969 Pick-ups...Germanium Transistor Distortion Pedal (OCD) Hendrix Wha Wha and a JMD :1 Marshall Stack 4 by 12 Speaker cab...vintage Stratocaster...thats what you need....!

@theonemodifier Thanks for this video man. If you haven't heard it this source, Stages, has been merged with 2! other sources along with the rest of the Atlanta '70 concert. Google Hendrix '70 Atlanta Vibratory. The quality is much better. This is my favorite too by the way. You can also find a torrent called Box of Gypsys revised with, in my opinion, the other best version of this song from 12-31-69 1st show at the Fillmore East

This solo is way beyond straight blues, it's a masterpiece of contemporary music. Almost every version of Hear my train played live in 1970 is fantastic. My two favourite come from the LA Forum gig (April, 25) and from the Baltimore show (June, 13).
