Thanks for posting. I particularly enjoyed the scene of the old streetcar.

My Dad drove bus in Nelson during the 1950's & 60's. I remember the Twin Coach buses with the motor over the rear wheels right at the rear of the bus. In 1956 the City of Nelson bought new Brill coach and I remember riding it. They had a horizontal six cylinder motor with three speed transmission. Later years a newer type of Twin Coaches were purchased. They didn't have enough power to to up the hills with a full load of passengers, so the rear ends had to be changed.

It cannot be 1942 as the city buses shown are 1948 model 41S Twin Coaches. The streetcars last ran in summer 1949 so I would guess the footage shows winter 1948-49. There's a photo of a stretcar in heavy snow in 12/48 in the book "Hanging Fire and Heavy Horses", the history of the Nelson system. I am the owner of the last bus purchased by the city transit system - #118, 1971 GMC TDH3301, preserved as #6000.
Thanks very much, it was marked in one book as 1942 but we did find another note attached to the video as winter 48
