Yoga Sutras: Danger of Practicing Techniques without Understanding

From the works of Living Enlightened Master Paramahamsa Nithyananda. In this clip taken from Patanjali Yoga Sutras discourse 11 (Sutra 14), Swamiji sheds more light on the paradox of the mind. He warns us about the dangers of practicing techniques without understanding. Even while enlightenment was the only priority for Buddha, it took him over 12 years to attain the truth. Only through understanding the truth of Dirgakalah as expounded by Patanjali, Buddha was able to instantly achieve enlightenment. As long as there is a hope for change, mind will continue to survive. Only when you take away the hope, mind will die and you will fall into the present moment. This is a paradoxical truth in that practice end when you decide you will practice for ever! He gives all this discourses for free! But the money is to fuel the foundation; it cost money for him to travel & build sanghas or communities to keep the Enlightenment vibration going. If you are sincere, not even money will stand in your way. What you get for a few dollars is nothing compared to what you receive! Be open & be intense and the Universe will allow you to reach Swamiji no matter what bank balance you have!

I love your teachings, they are pure, & true. Most of the others,(not true) would tell you to get an idol, to concentrate on, or a symbol, ect. You teach us to free our minds without all the fluff. ( Un-necessary fluff!)  It works! I unclenched once! I will follow your teachings.

Personal note: I had a realization yesterday that my mind projects a regular fluctuation between feeling "better" on some days and feeling depressed on other days. When those "depressed" days come, I try everything to accept it but I am unconsciously struggling to get back to feeling "better". By doing this, I am struggling with great effort between these two lower levels of consciousness.
