On January 16, 1893, four boatloads of United States Marines armed with
Gatling guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition came ashore in Honolulu,
capital of the independent Kingdom of Hawaii. As the Royal Hawaiian band played a
concert at the Hawaiian Hotel, 162 troops marched through the streets of Honolulu,
heading for the palace. The Queen of Hawaii, Lili'uokalani, looked down from her balcony
as the troops took up their positions. The following day, she surrendered at gunpoint,
yielding her throne to the government of the United States. A provisional government
led by wealthy white sugar growers assumed control of Hawaii and petitioned the
US for annexation. If copyright becomes an issue on this video upload, it will be deleted

  • @septube26 you are very ignorant. Hawaiians have dark skin because, they live in a warm climate.

    -End of Discussion-

  • @MonsieurMercredi LOL, sure carry on.

  • small tooth "come" should be "comb."

  • @septube26, I am African-American, and I'd be offended if someone said that I was White just because I'm not coal Black and my hair texture is a hard, wiry, course texture. A small tooth come goes straight through my hair, without making a sound, but this doesn't make me White or non-Black (African-American).

So much has been taken from Native Hawaiians and other Native Americans, and people of Oceania--it's an insult to further take away their identity by calling them Black.

  • @MonsieurMercredi They are black, whatever you wanna call it native Hawaiians where an original black people. I don't care how you deny it, these people where original and they where black. You need not comment back because nothing you say will change my mind. These are black people.

  • @septube26, what you mean is the Native (Original) Hawaiians looked more like today's African-Americans, but they are NOT blacks. The are what they are--NATIVE Hawaiians. They're also NOT Japanese or Asia, as so many are today. The true Hawaiians are so very few today. The Island is dominated by Asians.

It's pitiful that such a Beautiful people have been outnumbered by foreigners that dares to call themselves Native Hawaiians--this is such an INSULT to true original Native Hawaiians.

  • Today's Japanese Hawaiian majority looks nothing like the original Hawaiians.

  • Being Native, this is what missionaries did to my people. 80% of our people were wiped out due to diseases. Unlike white people, we took baths and washed our hands so we had little immunities to such things. Our chief, tortured and put to death. Our religion decimated. My Native tongue has been lost for 6 generations now. I am Native to Chile, South America now living in Canada. All Natives (Mexico, USA, and Canada) suffered the same way. By the way, Natives are not African.
