HealthDay Reporter by Dennis Thompson
Experts with the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association say that though these studies do show some benefits to moderate drinking, the health risks from alcohol consumption far outweigh the potential rewards.
Drinking any alcohol at all is known to increase your risk for contracting a number of types of cancer, said Susan Gapstur, vice president of epidemiology for the American Cancer Society. These include cancers of the mouth, pharynx, larynx, esophagus, liver, colon/rectum and breast.

The Harvard School of Public Health has more on alcohol and your health.

That was the first miracle (sign) of Jesus, according to The Bible, to turn water into wine. His first miracle according to The Quran is to talk as an infant to defend his mother against the false accusations that she had the baby Jesus through adultery. No matter what she would say, nobody would have believed her having a baby without a father. Jesus talked the first moment Mary had to encounter her people with him.
It is also worthy to mention that Mary is the only woman mentioned in the Quran by name
facts about alcohol
According to alcohol abuse and alcoholism facts uncovered by alcohol research, American youth who drinking before the of age 15 are four times more likely to become alcoholics than young people who do not drink before the age of 21. This statistic focuses on the importance of drinking at a later rather than at an earlier age. This statistics also points out very clearly how abuse and alcohol go together, even for teenagers.

The 25.9% of underage drinkers who are alcohol abusers and alcohol dependent drink 47.3% of the alcohol that is consumed by all underage drinkers.

Every day in the U.S. more than 13,000 children and teens take their first drink. Among other things, this means that many of these teens will understand first hand the relationship between abuse and alcohol.

Every year, 1,400 American college students between the ages of 18 and 24 die from alcohol-related accidents and injuries, including motor vehicle accidents. Traffic fatalities, perhaps more than any other statistics, point out the devastating realities that often result from alcohol abuse and alcoholism.

In the United States during 2004, 16,694 deaths occurred as a result of alcohol-related motor-vehicle crashes. This amount was approximately 39% of all traffic fatalities. This amounts to one alcohol-related death every 31 minutes. This statistic, quite honestly, is overwhelming. Talk about abuse and alcohol---one alcohol related traffic fatality every 31 minutes and the grief and devastation suffered from these deaths is beyond comprehension.
Here's one of the alcohol abuse and alcoholism facts and an alcohol statistic that though logical, is something that most drinkers and non-drinkers probably do not know: The 9.6% of adult alcoholics drink 25% of the alcohol that is consumed by all adult drinkers.

Every year in the U.S. more than 150,000 college students develop health problems that are alcohol-related. This is additional evidence that alcohol abuse and alcoholism, unfortunately, are intimately interrelated to one another.

Alcohol abuse and alcoholism cost the United States an estimated $220 billion in 2005. This dollar amount was more than the cost associated with cancer ($196 billion) and obesity ($133 billion). Though dollar amounts like this are hard to comprehend, at least they make an attempt at placing a dollar value on the relationship of abuse and alcohol.

  • EVERYTHING can cause cancer. I mean EVERYTHING. Like sunlight. Or smoking.Or high vitamin dosesOr viruses or simply a genetic predisposition. The women in my family don't drink, and yet because of genetic disposition, breast cancer has claimed many women in my family.you get a slightly lower chance of heart disease, you get a slightly higher chance of cancer

These days,we don't have to rely on holy men telling you to not go get plastered. These days we have SCIENTISTS telling us what's healthy.

  • @dangerouslytalented prevention is better than cure always do ur part and leave the rest to God almighty thats what i'd say , scientists cant tell u about ur life and the purpose of life , scientists make mistakes , scientists are human beings like me and u , scientists cant guide u in this life and here after .every1 plays his role in life even 2wards science if u see Islamic civilizations and medicine u would compare the difference ohh i'd go for mostly traditional medicine (ayurvedic).Peace

  • @dangerouslytalented ohh do read about Islam and medicine and other issues , nd drinking leads to many many many other unwanted stuff :) Peace

  • @TUBNIT Drinking TO EXCESS leads to many many problems. So does too much sunlight. Hell, even too much OXYGEN will kill you. Moderation in all things.

  • @dangerouslytalented watch the whole video u would understand what the lady means she is a SCIENTIST ...did u know that there is alcohol present in food 2 ?even in our body, in Islam if the food content has little alcohol in it but if u eat so much of it and that content is not enough 2get u drunk then its permissable to eat eg cheesecake the percentage of alc is low if u eat 100 cheese cakes it wont get u drunk then its okay 2 eat it :) ofcourse no1's gonna eat 100 ...moderation ;)

  • Consulting any religious text or praying for your health is like asking for financial advice from a bum on the street.

Religions, ALL of them, are a cancer infecting the minds of people.

  • @Impalamark64 wake up my friend u do ur part and then pray more like tie the camel and then pray :) , Islam has the best cure even to ur heart , read about honey olive oil milk etc everything is natural , im doing ayurveda now i realize whats right from wrong :) , read educate urself learn more about religion , religion doesnt cause hatret it comes out of lack of love for God , thanks for the comment and Peace

  • Oh Christ, I was looking for a good reason to get pissed drunk this weekend. I guess beer suppositories are really a BAD idea.

  • The bible says don't become a drunker. A drunker is an alcoholic. You can drink just not every single day of your life. Put God and other important things first.

  • we never say jasus is born from aduletry. we say god dont need to one man for born jasus & god isnt father jasus. god need born his son??? god could born him as 40 years not baby :. u just listen to news & youtube video. one time full read quran & see what is truth. jewish zonist cheated u. for god sake weak up & join shia :) god blees u

  • this is sooo fucking corny lol

  • @Jawakaithkuna no he said u cant drink but use it for medcine benefits only

  • @TUBNIT Prophets are human beings. Priest, monks, preachers... all humans. All making mistakes. The men who wrote and translated all scriptures in all religions were human beings like me and you. At least people of science have solid evidence and proof of their claims. Humans of science acknowledge their mistakes and record them, making sure not to trip over the same step again, thereby we may continue to evolve, as predicted and proven by science. It is inarguable.

  • Actually, wine is proven to increase lifespan and longevity. As long as you only drink 1-2 glasses a day.

  • Assalamu Alaikum verse 219 of chapter 2. in the Holy Quran?

They ask thee of wine, and gambling. Say thou: in both is a great sin, and some benefits for men, but the sin of them is for greater than their benefit.

As the dr said if u drink one glass of wine it's good for ur health but u cannot control ur self that is why Quran & bible prohibits

  • @dangerouslytalented i think you seem to miss the point of this video. If Jesus was God an all knowing thay actually wine/alcohol can cause cancer since he supposedly made us and he should know the danger of it then why would he endorse it. by turning water into wine he is categorically endorsing it. why shouldn't he just stand up and right there and then tell them it was forbidden because it was harmful. we are not talking about excess here we are talking about a harmful substance.
