Oh, you certainly can be assured of that. He is probably rolling them in the aisles with his stories and absolute hilarity! I know Heaven is a happier and utterly joyous place now!

Loved this commercial so much! You'll go bananas for Bic Banana Ink Crayons!"

I remember this commercial from my childhood in the 1970s. It played quite often, and I liked the commercial even though I never got my hands on the product. An added bonus was the fact that Charles Nelson Reilly was in this commercial because he was one of my favorite comedy character actors. At the time it seemed as if he was all over the place on tv. Commercials, tv shows, etc., but most memorably in syndicated reruns of the classic tv show The Ghost and Mrs Muir

Sez "GreekGuy"....
Chuck rules!

This is FRIGHTENING!!! They look like they are in condoms. Someone at the ad agency obviously had it out for Charles Nelson Reilly. Especially incorporating the word "gay" into the jingle.

We didn't know him 'cause we were too thick!

Char-els!

I learned how to spell "banana" from this man. :)

great commercial - charles nelson reilly was just a funny talker, i'm 37 and i remember him on the Match Game game show and even as a tyke thinking he was a funny guy. ....trip down amnesia lane
Great seeing that again. I remember it as a kid, and of course, I HAD to buy the pens. Charles Nelson Reilly, the best! He had a kind of funny Paul Lynde thing going on. LOL You can still see him on GSN, with the Match Game reruns. Yes, I do remember "Lidsville," and I think he was on "The Ghost & Mrs. Muir" too. I wonder if he's still acting?

From Internet Movie Database:
May 2006) Semi-retired and living in Beverly Hills, Charles occasionally directs opera, teaches and voices cartoons (most recently The Dirty Bubble on _"Spongbob Squarepants" (2000)_ ). The filmed version of his autobiographical one man play "The Life of Reilly" (The Life of Reilly (2006)) premiered at the South By Southwest film festival in March of 2006 to rave reviews.

Interesting idea. The only one flamboyant enough that might be able to do it is probably Richard Simmons. (I'm dating myself) or put Richard and Lance Bass together!
I wish they made ads like this that were just silly and fun - kids ads today (and for 15 -20 years) are slick, marketing-ized and give them all of the power...
I think kids want fun ads, too...
