First time I see "Bird: The Legent of Charlie Parker", I was like, shit an other jazz musician.. I love old school hip-hop, and I never, ever, thought I could have loved jazz music. But it was strange, when he started to play, I was like hypnotize ! And so I came here. Actually, I don't really know why I did that, but I know it was the right thing to do.

I absolutely hate reading but when I had to read a biography for English this year (I'm a sophomore in HS) I picked him and I read one called "Bird: The Legend of Charlie Parker" and oh my god I couldn't put it down.
You learn so much about him and his life and why he was so good.
Inspired me to get better and dedicate my life to jazz studies.

this music cant be described in rests and notes or barely any amounts of technicality. Obviously you need technicality to become a good musician, but charlie parker has something, and i think it is what makes music music rather then advanced sound.
