This is a photogram piece, on black and white 35mm film. It was made during a workshop with Kerry Laitala during this years AntiMatter Film Festival, using electrical components, nuts, bolts, screws, and a mini cassette tape. The soundtrack was made on my circuit-bent Realistic keyboard. 2008. www.oilyfilms.com

  • I like this one, this sort of work is much more difficult that I ever thought. What speed have you slowed it down to? The connection between the music and the electronic content of the image is nice.

  • Hi Gerald, thanks for the comment. I transferred it frame-by-frame with an old filmstrip projector and my sony handycam, which frame-records at 5 fps. not sure if I changed it during editing, think I might've frame-blended it. Happy Holidays!

  • That's awesome how you make your sound now lol!

  • I've been having a lot of fun with it. Worried I might end up blowing out an eardrum though.

  • Oh gosh, this was just amazing Scott!! Definitely one of my favorites for sure - you should make this film 3 hours long, I could watch stuff like this all day. Awesome job Scott!!!

  • A Filmstrip Projector!!! Wow, I've not had my hands on one of those in a very long time. I'll start hunting now, but I'm worried that Í've missed the boat on them; they were in heavy in schools 30 years ago but I doubt one has been used in the past 20 years.
