Frank, I only once flew to Mammoth Airport but commercially but was a private pilot in the 1970s and 1980s and this was replaced by my interest in snowmobiling which I did in the Mammoth Lakes area. Mammoth Airport lies in the snow shadow of the Sierra Crest and its snowfall is much less than in town. It looks like an easier airport than Catalina but density altitude would be a big factor when it is warm here.

Frank:
This song is just appropriate for this occassion! If you're at 12.500, shouldn't you be on Oxygen, or are you up at 12,500 less than 30min?

i wonder if mammoth will change from a non-tower airport with all the airline traffic coming in form LA and the bay area now.
