And about not inconvenience of physical gold, and gold standard. There are credit cards that allows shopping using gold (just like you don't actually have cash and pay by your credit card). Also a company can use gold to insure their clients that even if it wanted it can't be involved in any rapid debasement.
And i guess if gold can be created out of thin air then the gold standard will no longer be viable, but if. Theres no danger of that in any conceivable future.

I kind of don't get why some people are so bent on keeping the money supply up with the economy. What is the difference if you have to adjust your prices because a company innovated; demand had changed etc. or the economy expands slightly. The modern economist paranoia with deflation came from the fact that it was destructive when it was violent and unexpected (just as inflation would be). Free market money would not be subjected to politics, but would it even be possible to hit the spot?

@MichaelFreedom71 Yea but just take a look at wage rates, people's time is worth different amounts. A doctor has spent years getting to where he is, a labourer who thinks he is of equal worth by hour is just ridiculous.

We could trade in hours, minutes and seconds. Pretty stable unit.
For every time unit you live you have generate that amount of value to the world and therefore you have this value to trade ;-) self generated trade medium.

not quite, considering the only reason they teach you to use two hands to drive is because years and years ago you had to physically twist the wheels and thereby using two hands.
Cars have become so advanced that one hand is more than enough. Or maybe I'm just annoying :P

one hand driving, dangerous ;)

If you are talking about corruption (in business) then that it the result of the state in the first place since they protect and encourage special interest. You can't compete with the state as it is absolute in its power. This gives immunity to certain corporations/sectors. This is why we have lobby groups (big oil, pharma, etc) influencing policy in Washington.
