Dude, playing the Low E string on the 8th fret (like the "video" you speak of) or playing the A string on the 3rd fret (like this guy), its STILL a C note. Its not wrong. It just doesnt look as cool cause you dont have to move your hand around as much. Its the SAME EXACT note. You must have grown up with a Bass that had only one string on it.......
