Biodata of Bhante Dr M Punnaji Mahathera

Bhante Punnaji was a former medical doctor who studied modern science and Western medicine in Sri Lanka and obtained two doctorates while in the US, one in Western Psychology and another in Western Philosophy and Comparative Religion.
Bhante has made an in-depth research into the original teachings of the Buddha, which he believes is different from all the schools of Buddhism. This research was not only academic but experiential. Since the 1970s, Bhante has been in the West sharing the Dhamma. He is currently in Malaysia at the invitation of the Buddhist Maha Vihara, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
