The word "systema" is a "system" for Russian. Actually, "systema" is a greek word. None of russian martial arts ever called "systema". The founder of modern russian martial arts is Aleksey Alekseevich Kadochnikov. After him, the modern russian martial arts was called "Systema Kadochnikova". One can find definition of "system" at Webster - regularly interacting or interdependent group of items forming a unified whole. That's it. Kadochnikov not only formed a unified whole, but also improved it much, based on physics laws.

  • - understanding people and letting them give their opinions and letting them understand what we can see without being so...Rude. Sorry man, but seriously, Systema is about "Understanding Yourself"...Not beating up people.

  • Calm yourself, Sir. I run a Systema Study Group and we know how to deal with knife attacks...I'm talking to all those who don't understand that a "wave motion" and "flow" is needed in their movement to actually do everything in systema, so they don't try being heroes on the street and get stabbed for turning "natural movement" into technique. It's called the "Basic info" not the actual lessons. Most of all...Systema practitioners don't speak in that tone that you did just now...We are for-

  • @DeathlyHalcyon

he may be in better shape then you with strong lungs and legs for tracking down pray

Running may turn on his preditor instincts. You may look like pray to be eaten if you run and "zig zag"

Truth is this channel is for those of us that want more clear answer on exactly how to deal with knife attack.

This channel is not for the frighten pray to voice thier frighten opinions of how be best to act like pray

  • - Just run away from knife situations cause the knife ain't a gun...Let him toss it at you, just zig-zag out of the way...LOL

  • .I only advice using the Systema Knifework only when you have already mastered the wave motion and it's flow to know how to use gravity, momentum, impact, torque and pressure points to control the situation. Till then, learn to stay clear of the blade.

Keep at 45 degrees in both forward and backward motions to keep on the control angle of the human body and most of all...Don't be a hero. Wait for the blade to possible slip all the way by to control the hand from the elbow OR-

  • I love Systema Knife work but some are just too based on single edged blade...I trained in Kali and I can say, most their techniques work with their correct principles and mindset...I was also tutored knife work in Bunjinkan Ninjitsu which utilizes the Tanto alot and I can say Aikido and Ninjitsu greatly remove the probability of being stabbed for staying in the same place...I only advice using the Systema Knifework when you know how to use the wave and flow.

  • i dont want to piss this guy off......

  • @Ninjaphil24

Agreed. It is perhaps not the best defence from knife strike down but I do see it's benefits. "If" used correctly

  • That's a ridiculous defence to a knife attack. Don't ever do that, you'd lose your arm.
