Demonstration of Ki Power (Chi Power / Qi-gong)

Features spectacular 1960s footage of Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969), the founder of aikido! It shows shots of O-Sensei performing in his later years when his technique was even more refined. It contains shots of O-sensei teaching and demonstrating and much more! His perfect circular movements and execution of techniques bring his opponents into his dynamic sphere where they are tossed about effortlessly.

  • The Army Rangers are also trained in Aikido to disarm opponents and regain control of a situation where they are outnumbered in hand to hand combat. When people say Aikido is useless, they're saying more about themselves than they are about the art.

  • Grand Master Morihei Ueshiba was wellknown in the military troops with his excellent sword's skill during First World War.

Master then preached peace through AiKiDo.

    This is wonderful !

It is my pleasure having chances to absorb Master's great skills and thinkings.

    Thanks for the posting.

  • We are human beings and we are all connected. The founder of Aikido in his younger day have learned many different arts and he was excellent in all of them. Many masters came and challenged him, he tried to avoid fighting, but when he had to fight, he defeated all of them, some became his students. He was a spiritual man and did not want to hurt anyone. If people enjoy beating other fighters with blood coming out without remorse, they should ask themselves: Are they better than animals?

  • It is sad that the new generation of fighters (MMA) do not have any respect for people or other arts. Maybe their teachers did not teach them that. Most masters who got it, do not need to prove to anyone. But Bruce Lee was the one who proved that he can use Chi/Ki to knock big guys off their feet. Ed Parker, the father of American Karate, at first was skeptical but when Bruce Lee demonstrated his 1-inch punch on him, he later confirmed that it was real. He said that he was flying backward.

  • New generation of martial artists have no respect for people or other arts. Perhaps, their teachers did not teach them that. Some people posted and said they did not mean to disrespect Aikido, but they actually do by saying their Arts are better. It depends on each person. MMA are a mixture of different arts and most of them are rooted in China, Japan, Korea, and Thailand. O Sensei Ueshiba learned many arts when he was young including, judo and Jitsu, similar to the modern Jujitsu.

  • I'm going to test my masters, at my own risk. Always will.

  • @socksumi You are right, a story is a story and I never said I really do believe the story I just told. Anyhow, I just want to say that MMA is not necessarily better than Aikido. It all depends on the person, if you understand what I mean. Sure, a lot of Sensei would be beaten by an MMA fighter, but I can think of at least 1 in Belgium who would stand a chance. Aziz Belhassane is his name. :-)

  • @Tibokio Please cast skepticism on what you hear. If something rare like this happened, surely it would have been recorded. I've never seen any combative matches by any high level Aikidoka---all I see are demos and all I here are claims.

I too heard claims--like one that Rickson Gracie submitted a high level aikido practitioner very quickly during a demonstration in Japan, but again---it's a story with sketchy details and no video evidence.

  • @socksumi But what is "pure form"? I heard a story about a boxer challenging an Aikido sensei. They both signed a contract in case one woud get hurt. The boxer then charged to the Aikidoka and the Aikidoka exploited the boxer's weakness, his legs. Just at the moment the boxer would hit him, he duck and the muscled man stumbled over the Aikidoka, breaking his both legs, with his own momentum.

I'm not saying Aikido would beat MMA, I'm saying a real master can adjust to the situation with Aikido.

  • @Metalbob011 I responded to the wrong thread. I mean to respond to socksumi.

  • @kumastomps If I read correctly then I am not disagreeing. If you have trained correctly then you wouldn't be challenging people over such issues. You should learn to read more carefully because that is what I am stateing about Aikido.

  • @Metalbob011 You obviously have not trained for a long time nor do you know a lot about Aikido. MMA is a sport and that's it. Please, take me to the ground so i can gouge your eyes, bite and do what is illegal in a sport. Just because you see videos of Aikido artists doing kata, does not mean they are not good strikers, grapplers or combat technicians. What is demonstrated in these videos is an art and is Kata. What you need to do, is go train somewhere for 10 years and then reflect.
