i think people don't trust their governments. govts make lists of people who are 'potential enemies' based on the stance and opinion they hold. that is why the police/cia collect photos of people at protests, and then try to match names to them later. sending an email with a certain opinion, e.g. bring our troops home. will just get that person on a list of anti-war protesters. i think the govt. has set it up that way so voices shrink away giving the govt. more power. govt = police

No. The software won't spy on you as stated. But when you contact your representative, they will want to know who you are, and whether you live in their district. Can't blame them for that. Why wouldn't you want them to know who you are? Are you a serial killer, terrorist or a wanted fugitive? GovMailer wasn't designed for pissed off Americans to throw obscene comments at the government anonymously. It was designed to register valid complaints using our right to free speech. Use it. It works.
