@keith4291 i realize this but history has thought us that those trends although not as high were happenin in the 70 nd 80's too. then a financial crisis hit ireland nd people started askin God for help hence the churches control risin agin nd i fear it may happen again. although people dont go to mass 85% of ireland is still catholic in beliefs but i no exactly wat you are sayin and hopefully people will become more open minded in the future, more so than now

its great for gay people across the country. to c such a high profile man comin out to a very conservative, mostly, country where Catholicism is still a big part of life takes sum guts. fair play Donal and from gays all over this country i thank you :)

Heroic stuff, a genuine legend.
The positive influence this man's honesty will have on the GAA and the lives of young lads in the same situation is phenomenal.
If only there were more properly brave people like him this wouldn't even be an issue anymore.
