well, cassey always says the BEST way to reduce fat is cardio. the cardio will shed the fat and the pilates will shape the muscles. end result slimmer and shapely legs. doing this without cardio may only change the shape of your leg but not slim them down. i'm not an expert, but that's been my personal experience when working out.
